Quite a decent game so far. Maybe a bit more convience in terms of movement on the ship would be possible? Like you can't access cargo or sleep from the lower level. Maybe just change the minimap to show both levels, so you can skip a few clicks and see where everybody is at once. Being able to pick missions from the bridge/travel mode might also be a nice QoL. I also though the space combat was mostly good and very doable, but fighting 2 or 3 of those krell ships is a pain, even fully upgraded and equiped with 6 of the best torpedo's. Perhaps more AP, with less AP cost for normal weapon (so you can deal with the drones better), and extra AP cost for torpedo. Or maybe just reduce the number, damage or speed of the spawned drones.

Some QoL issues will come with V1.00.

For example turbolift hotkeys for the three ship decks. So "T-1-C" will from everywhere jump via turbolift to deck 1 and go to cargo manager etc.

Regarding the fights there are two "factions" of players. One is having trouble with the Krell seekers, the other telling me fights are too easy :)

A tactic that works nicely agains Krell
- Do not try to waste movements escaping the seekers (just eat them)
- When a seeker is spawned next to a Krell, take out the seeker and the Krell with a single Torpedo
- Never attack a seeker on top of a Krell, as it will deflect damage from the Ship under it
- with your last move hide behind cover!

Hello! Game is looking great! At time of posting, I am currently about to send the Infiltrator to the Lab. I do have a bit of concern/advice for you though. I have noticed that you can find bots in containers with pre-existing shell types aside from J-type and Infiltrator, but when it comes to keeping track of these other types, between the arcades and stasis storage, it is very difficult to keep track of them. 

It would be very much appreciated if we could unlock either some off-ship storage for sex bots that lets us know their shell type on hover, or some way to reproduce shell types we have encountered, possibly including (or warning against/blocking) the Infiltrator shell. 

This is especially important with the notion I have seen in the updates and comments of the Multiverse Pod and the warning of it being single-use... Are there more pods that can be purchased later because for now I am simply keeping my unique bots in stasis shipping pods worried that I may one day lose a battle against space pirates for my cargo and lose the special shell types.

Please either tell me that you are planning something or that I simply haven't reached that point in the game yet...

Glad you enjoy the game so far.
The best overview over the bots is in the cargo manager, where you can see them with the shell visual in the thumbnail.
Maybe I can also add sth like that for the arcade or configurator storage views.

Shell types can be easily found in the Krell System (Arellarti) Asteroid belt fights if you want to farm them.

The cargo and also the botlab parts are safe from pirates or defeat. Defeat means simply you get booted out of combat with some ship damage.

The multiverse pod is only single use per Game instance. What you could do is save your bots and stuff out by using the pod, then restore your save to before und you have, as kind of intermediate save,  a nice multiverse pod file with your stuff sitting in the save folder (and still have your pod)

EDIT: In v1.00 there is also a player base with off ship storage warehouse.

Thanks for the info! The player base definitely sounds useful for this, only remaining issue is not knowing how many shell types there are. 

You could definitely use the arcades for that though. Or at least something similar, like an arcade at the library that exclusively stocks shell-type bots for an added premium (additional possibility of stills and/or scenes with the arcades AKA free access to the arcade for bot donors) along with / or a list of "stockable" shell-types currently in said arcade. I'm a bit of a completionist for in-game collectables, so I would at least like a list of shell-types to be available in the library.

By the way, (update) I now have obtained every currently available gallery thing. Still have to use the multiverse pod though. On that note, why is everything illegal in the new zone? Is that the default while it's in development? Also I beat both precursor junkyards for their map fragments, but haven't opened the crates yet. Are there unique parts in those crates? The collapsor torpedoes were a nice hidden prize for the gutsy btw. I used two of those torpedoes to take down the final phase of the Krell's Precursor Junkyard. 

Hoping you keep going on this project, and since you mentioned the player base in ver1.0, I have great hopes! Rooting for you and hoping you continue with even more great stuff!

The illegal setting was the default. Will of course be changed when you get the landing permit.

Thank you! Now to collect the shells... If you could make add a "book" of shell-types later in development (such as the library, since that's what is currently in development)  so you don't have to answer this question over and over would be great!

As to the crates, Precursor Crates contain Precursor Cortices with upgrade slots and personality, attribute and trait cubes.

someone can tell me how or where i can find the lab bot? i need to open the cases for the mision :(

Not sure what you mean. Whats the Quest Entry you want to do?
- The lab is accessible once BB-2 has repaired the lower decks
- In the lab there is a unit to build bots
- The infiltrator bot for the mission must be assembled (gen 2 or 3 parts, mil grade only)
- Once you store it the mission triggers some cutscene

Sorry because My English is shit,  i need build a bot with 150 IQ ir something like that for a misión but idk how or where i can get the lab, or how i do BB-2 repair the lab

- The lab can be accessed once bb2 had repaired the lower deck (click the hatch in the cargo bay)

- the lower deck can be repaired once vee has been awoken (feed her energy pods fir a few days)

You need to repeat the lab facial with every outfit nimhe has (4 in total) to get the achievement and progress

The walkthrough has some cheats ate the end.
Bot parts cannot be added as they are no simple items but instances with unique identifiers.

Just re-roll the contents of a crate to get better parts

glad you enjoyed the games.

I have a patreon, where I do almost daily posts on development progress, post concept art, conduct polls and interact with my patrons. Patrons, depending on the level, have the benefit of Early Access, Beta Test participation and playing a more active role in development of the game and its features.

There's also a discord linke to patreon, once a patron joins my discord channels are accessible.

Some ppl dont like patreon, so I have also a buymeacoffee, but thats for donations mainly. Most interactions are on patreon.

I can't buy the racy uniform for Khelara from Shady. Is this a bug? Because i already bought the krell uniform at Shady's

She needs to agree to wear a special uniform first. Increase her appreciation to 3 (do bounty/smuggling missions or give her vortex) and chat with her in the engine room.

Appreciation is at 3. I'm chatting with her in the engine room but it doesn't do anything.

Edit: I had to first unlock the second uniform for Nimhe and T'ris in the shop. After that i could also buy the first in larger quantities.

nice game. especially thankful for including the source so I was able help myself when I didn't know what to do next. The "future update" messages for the quests were a bit annoying, but it seems you are working on it

The shady trader (girl) at the spacebar from 18:00 has it. after buying make sure your give it to T'ris.

how can i inprove the engine

go to the engine room, click on the terminal, go to tab engine, add one or two subsystems in slots to increase output power. one path must be complete to produce power.

You can buy subsystems after one or two days of earning money mining.

Thanks! Rigging my ship with advanced weapons and then hunting for high class baddies did it. The scene when the J-class bot did its job was really scary.

Glad it worked. The infiltrator bot was the highest voted side character in the game and got special new content in V0.9 :)

please add a way to free slaves instead of either ejecting their cryotubes into space or selling them to pirates.

Also i was just a little disappointed that the different bot parts don't have different visuals.

The slaves actually are freed and rescued when you eject them. you notify space patrol and get a reward. Its described in the message you get. Maybe should have renamed the button 'rescue'

i must have accidently skipped clicked that message away and skipped it everytime afterwards.

How do I get a Head Gen 2, Military Grade? Wait until I can find one in a loot crate or is there another, faster way? 

The game got me positively surprised, being far more a trading sim with some RPG elements that keeps me in front of the monitor for long sessions on end.

you can either do high end missions for rare loot crates or just reroll normal lootcrates. or you check special offers in the bot manager terminal.

a little slow paced at times but overall very good.
and unlike 80% of the titles on here, this does actually count as a game. not just

I Love this game!  It IS a game and not just a thinly vailed Virtual novel, It is a game, that includes sex.  Not a game about sex, or its only goal is sex.    Tons of fun and just the right amount of grind!  We need more games like this one!

Sorry has been relocated and unified. It is in the bot manager tab on the terminal (next to the force field)

I stumbled on to this on Gamcore and found out it was on itch. This is a really creative game. Visuals are really good for the download size too.

Glad you like the game. I tried to keep a balance of size and quality for the animations as I still have some releases to go and do not want to overly bloat the game (1.5 gig when it's done)

Yoo i wonder how to read python 2 documentation lol weather theere is any difference i should lookout for between python 2 and python 3

I wrote my game in an older Renpy version using python 2.x.
I would definetely recommend to go with python 3.x. Many benefits.

ye, I was asking about python 2 cos im working with a robot api written in python 2 and i was wondering if there is a difference and whatever I need to take note of. 


in the future I may try to work with the python3 renpy api when i have my own project idea

In V0.8 there is a holodeck and Princess Seraphine will join the crew (aka Irith...).The holodeck will have a castle level too looking like "Princess"

Just played through v 0.7, I really enjoyed the progress made in the game so far. I'm really looking forward to the completion of this game so that I can start over from the beginning again. Keep up the great work! :)

I dont have an sdk to test it with. maybe once it is finished, but that is at least a year off.

Edit: User told me he used joiplay with android and it runs fine with that method.

I just finished V.6 and I really enjoyed it. I thought the combat was wonky at first, until I discovered how to use the asteroids as cover which turned it into an enjoyable exercise. I'm curious to see how the character development continues, particularly with the infiltrator bot. Keep up the good work :)

could we please have a combat tutorial for the bounty hunt-quest? they are a pain in the ass (not fun) in how unclear the UI and combat log is... least favourit part of the game right now.

If you mean the mission tracker and bounty location tracker in the nav screen that has been revised in V0.7 and is clearer hopefully.

If you mean the actual combat itself there is a description in the walkthrough, but maybe a "best strategies" section that explains what strategy to apply would make sense. Will add it for V0.7.

How to Survive in Combat - Quick Guide

++ You have unlimited moves, but every attack costs Action Points (AP). When your AP are 0, you are immobile until all enemies have taken turns attacking, so plan well. Depending on Engine configuration you have 3-6AP.

++ Level 1 or Level 2 Mobs: Fire until you have only 1 Action Point (AP) left. Then hide behind a rock out of LOS and end Turn(T). Rinse and repeat

++ Level 3 Mobs with Seekers: Do not chase those mobs around the map, they will swarm you with seekers and you’ll die. Nuke all but one in the first round with high end torpedoes. The last one can be defeated with conventional tactics.

++ Swarms (Level 2) open space encounter: Little to no cover. Nuke as many as you can in first round (have them bunch up, AOE is your friend) with torpedos and then slug it out.

++ Match your gear to the level of your mission or you will most likely die Level 1: Standard Photon Gear/Shield/Torpedo ok Level 2: Neutronic Gear recommended Level 3: Quantum Gear recommended

I moved the save location to the correct folder to avoid Mac OS / Win access right issues

It now belongs into "Users/yourUserID/AppData/Roaming/Renpy/SpaceJourneyX... where all your save files are.
On Mac it is User/yourUserID/Library/Renpy/SpaceJourneyX...

Just drop the file there.

You can then leave it there, it will be automatically found in future.

how far in the future?? I have tried restarting the game a few times but never found the wormhole that is supposed to  appears

I've enjoyed this game so far but I am a little stuck on the quest Mysterious Crate I because I can't figure out where the beacon that I'm supposed to go to is, can anyone help me out?

That beacon appears (or should) in the 75% zone as soon as you have the quest. Its the nav point. Just fly there and click on it.

I have an issue where "Bot Lab Secrets Quest" won`t trigger.
I do not know how many days it takes but I have tried for 15 in game days straight.
I do not use any mods and I used a clean folder.

ps. the way I tried it was: enter hallway 1 -> back to room -> skip time...(repeat) (when 12:00 skip day)

There's a weird  counter / trigger for that in V0.5.

Have sex twice with Type-J bot in your room then walk into the hallway.Never thought people wouldn't try  that twice an therefore never trigger it.

Your suggestion to move the application to the desktop removes the error of when using the device to store the save. However, a json is not created either on the desktop, or the location of the save files in the RenPy directory (subdirectory of the Library)

So, it seems I will have to restart from scratch when I have the patience.

The json is in the folder named "game" inside the game folder (one level "above" saves folder). You might have to use right click "show package contents" on the app file to get there.
I know, that is bad design to write inside the app but I couldn't figure out to access game library / save paths on OSX properly yet...
Will fix that in future and relocate it to the saves folder

Out of curiosity, what was the motivation for setting it up this way in the first place, as opposed to allowing continuity of saves between versions, much like other RenPy games?

With unfinished design (procedural hierarchy of modules, call sequence, ...) of the game I cannot solve the "continuity of process" problem for renpy saves and resumes, so the pod is a kind of data continuity crutch.
I took your hint and in V0.6. at  saved the multiverse pod file in the generic save game path, so it is automatically found be new versions and eliminates access issues.

It seems odd that the write permissions to ones own app would error out if in a directory, but work if in the Desktop directory. Sound like there is a bug somewhere in the callstack.

I was lazy in just dumping it into the app location on OSX. Bad practice, but Win usually doesnt care.
Fixed with V0.6 (see post above)

In V0.5, I happened to accept two missions at different times while both are active at the distance 50 point. When the first mission came due, I tried to use the location but it said there was nothing to do.

The distance point. Sorry, I think it was the 100. I first succeeded in a mission in the large asteroids, then accepted one mission at the point. While that was active, I accepted a second one.

When the first came due, I couldn’t collect. When the second came due, I couldn’t collect it either.

Does the game allow you to sell items required for missions? If so, that is the likely cause. It prevents sell all, but I had cargo of the same type, so I sold individual amounts.

The Nav points are still on the map after fail, is this as designed?

What helped one other used with the same issue is to drag the game app to the desktop and then try it from there.
(better and more safe than nuking whole folders with chmod...)

Thanks for info. Quest only triggers if you have the parts in the lab and unpacking bot crates is not possible before Nimhe joins. How did you get bot parts prior to Nimhe joining?

Hmmm, I develop the entire Game on OSX 12.6. No issues, no special access right required, ...

There is only only OSX issue I am aware of and that is a file access rights issue with the multiverse pod (can be tentatively solved by moving the game app on the desktop and running it there).

Let me know when the issues happen.

It happened on a startup of an initial new game (no save) V04. Ignoring the call stacks 3x, nothing seems amiss, other than not being able to ever buy shields or weapons, which I assume will come with V05 combat.

That is peculiar. There are three main causes of issues
(a) use of an old incompatible save
(b) overwrite install into a previous version folder
(c) mod use (like URM)
If you have a text postable dump I'll have a look.

Combat is not implemented in V0.4. You could also wait for V0.5, which will be publicly released around 15.05.

Unfortunately those are not the case.

Also I found a couple of behaviours that didn't match the walkthrough, but it seems I can't get the spoiler markup html to work in comments. (And my discord is not linked to a phone, so I cannot use  that markup there)

Not sure whether you refer to the actual Ylyee quest to trigger (visit bar at 15:00 after 10 days or so in V0.5).
If you refer to the multivaerse pod save not working and are on a Mac, move the.app to the desktop and play from there.

If your issues are with V0.4, I recommend to restart with V0.5, released yesterday. That might help.

Hello yv0751, cool little game you got here so far. I remember playing The Princess in the Tower a while back which was a fun little diversion.

I'm also glad to see that you've improved a bit from your last game. Great job!

I like the models you're using and I'm assuming you created them yourself (If so good stuff); However I really feel like your in-game animations could do with some polishing. Granted I'm unsure how Renpy handles animations as I'm unfamiliar with the engine, but I really feel like the limited animations are holding this game back (I felt similarly with Princess in the Tower). Are the animations freeze frame in engine (like a flip book kind of deal) or are they key-framed to specific triggers? Also what program are you using to generate the animations? Sorry I know a lot of questions.

Outside of that I like the game play loop you've built into the game. Its not tedious, encourages exploration, and is paced in a sensible manner. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. Keep up the good work :)

Glad that you enjoyed the game so far.

The animations are six frame symmetrically looped freeze frames, which for me are a good compromise between effort, memory and effect. Animations are a time sink but I know some players can't do without, so I added them.

In general, I rather spend my effort on the gameplay and have to aim for a balance here with the available time.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. From my own experience (with different game engines) optimization can be a real slog, and in terms of games, paramount to achieving an ideal performance for the player's system. To me it sounds like real time inverse kinematics aren't possible in engine, or if they are, they're so resource intensive that adding them would bloat the size of the game. To be honest a lot of games made in Renpy seem to suffer from file size creep as they're developed. I appreciate that you have taken this into consideration for the players.

I agree with you Ein, an extra frame on the blowjob/handjob animation would improve the scenes immensely. Still loving the game so far, the characters and gameplay loop is fun even in this early stage. This is amongst my top projects that I am keeping my eye on. Looking forward to the exhibition mechanics and the hacker girl's storyline and leads immensely.

I assume the following:

a.) You installed the game in a fresh folder 

b.) You did not use an incompatible (=old version) save 

c.) You did not use a compressed, unofficially ported or otherwise modded version

If not, observe a to c and try again. Sounds like b to me.

Otherwise, assuming sth else is corrupted (unlikely) reinstall and retry.

If the issue is consistently reproducible and a to c does _not_ apply, I would be interested in the save game (send me a link)

there is a tab "subsys" in the cargo bay. You should find it in there. Just press button install next to it.

And once you installed it, go to EN, where you can toggle to it in the EN menu with cursor left / right in order to configure it
