I Love this game! It IS a game and not just a thinly vailed Virtual novel, It is a game, that includes sex. Not a game about sex, or its only goal is sex. Tons of fun and just the right amount of grind! We need more games like this one!
Glad you like the game. I tried to keep a balance of size and quality for the animations as I still have some releases to go and do not want to overly bloat the game (1.5 gig when it's done)
ye, I was asking about python 2 cos im working with a robot api written in python 2 and i was wondering if there is a difference and whatever I need to take note of.
in the future I may try to work with the python3 renpy api when i have my own project idea

I just finished V.6 and I really enjoyed it. I thought the combat was wonky at first, until I discovered how to use the asteroids as cover which turned it into an enjoyable exercise. I'm curious to see how the character development continues, particularly with the infiltrator bot. Keep up the good work :)
could we please have a combat tutorial for the bounty hunt-quest? they are a pain in the ass (not fun) in how unclear the UI and combat log is... least favourit part of the game right now.
If you mean the mission tracker and bounty location tracker in the nav screen that has been revised in V0.7 and is clearer hopefully.
If you mean the actual combat itself there is a description in the walkthrough, but maybe a "best strategies" section that explains what strategy to apply would make sense. Will add it for V0.7.

I moved the save location to the correct folder to avoid Mac OS / Win access right issues
It now belongs into "Users/yourUserID/AppData/Roaming/Renpy/SpaceJourneyX... where all your save files are. On Mac it is User/yourUserID/Library/Renpy/SpaceJourneyX...
Just drop the file there.
You can then leave it there, it will be automatically found in future.
Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I've clicked on every lets inch of the screen in every room. I cannot find the wrist control unit, or anything at all. Literally, what do I do?

I have an issue where "Bot Lab Secrets Quest" won`t trigger. I do not know how many days it takes but I have tried for 15 in game days straight. I do not use any mods and I used a clean folder.
ps. the way I tried it was: enter hallway 1 -> back to room -> skip time...(repeat) (when 12:00 skip day)

Your suggestion to move the application to the desktop removes the error of when using the device to store the save. However, a json is not created either on the desktop, or the location of the save files in the RenPy directory (subdirectory of the Library)
So, it seems I will have to restart from scratch when I have the patience.
The json is in the folder named "game" inside the game folder (one level "above" saves folder). You might have to use right click "show package contents" on the app file to get there. I know, that is bad design to write inside the app but I couldn't figure out to access game library / save paths on OSX properly yet... Will fix that in future and relocate it to the saves folder
Out of curiosity, what was the motivation for setting it up this way in the first place, as opposed to allowing continuity of saves between versions, much like other RenPy games?
With unfinished design (procedural hierarchy of modules, call sequence, ...) of the game I cannot solve the "continuity of process" problem for renpy saves and resumes, so the pod is a kind of data continuity crutch. I took your hint and in V0.6. at saved the multiverse pod file in the generic save game path, so it is automatically found be new versions and eliminates access issues.
It seems odd that the write permissions to ones own app would error out if in a directory, but work if in the Desktop directory. Sound like there is a bug somewhere in the callstack.
In V0.5, I happened to accept two missions at different times while both are active at the distance 50 point. When the first mission came due, I tried to use the location but it said there was nothing to do.

I first succeeded in a mission in the large asteroids, then accepted one mission at the point. While that was active, I accepted a second one.
When the first came due, I couldn’t collect. When the second came due, I couldn’t collect it either.
Does the game allow you to sell items required for missions? If so, that is the likely cause. It prevents sell all, but I had cargo of the same type, so I sold individual amounts.
The Nav points are still on the map after fail, is this as designed?
What helped one other used with the same issue is to drag the game app to the desktop and then try it from there. (better and more safe than nuking whole folders with chmod...)

Thanks for info. Quest only triggers if you have the parts in the lab and unpacking bot crates is not possible before Nimhe joins. How did you get bot parts prior to Nimhe joining?
Fantastic game, quite addictive to play. General question (for anyone), I'm on day 55 and V0.5 and still have not unlocked the pirate base location, what am I missing?
Hmmm, I develop the entire Game on OSX 12.6. No issues, no special access right required, ...
There is only only OSX issue I am aware of and that is a file access rights issue with the multiverse pod (can be tentatively solved by moving the game app on the desktop and running it there).
It happened on a startup of an initial new game (no save) V04. Ignoring the call stacks 3x, nothing seems amiss, other than not being able to ever buy shields or weapons, which I assume will come with V05 combat.
That is peculiar. There are three main causes of issues (a) use of an old incompatible save (b) overwrite install into a previous version folder (c) mod use (like URM) If you have a text postable dump I'll have a look.
Combat is not implemented in V0.4. You could also wait for V0.5, which will be publicly released around 15.05.
Also I found a couple of behaviours that didn't match the walkthrough, but it seems I can't get the spoiler markup html to work in comments. (And my discord is not linked to a phone, so I cannot use that markup there)
Not sure whether you refer to the actual Ylyee quest to trigger (visit bar at 15:00 after 10 days or so in V0.5). If you refer to the multivaerse pod save not working and are on a Mac, move the.app to the desktop and play from there.
If your issues are with V0.4, I recommend to restart with V0.5, released yesterday. That might help.
Hello yv0751, cool little game you got here so far. I remember playing The Princess in the Tower a while back which was a fun little diversion.
I'm also glad to see that you've improved a bit from your last game. Great job!
I like the models you're using and I'm assuming you created them yourself (If so good stuff); However I really feel like your in-game animations could do with some polishing. Granted I'm unsure how Renpy handles animations as I'm unfamiliar with the engine, but I really feel like the limited animations are holding this game back (I felt similarly with Princess in the Tower). Are the animations freeze frame in engine (like a flip book kind of deal) or are they key-framed to specific triggers? Also what program are you using to generate the animations? Sorry I know a lot of questions.
Outside of that I like the game play loop you've built into the game. Its not tedious, encourages exploration, and is paced in a sensible manner. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. Keep up the good work :)
The animations are six frame symmetrically looped freeze frames, which for me are a good compromise between effort, memory and effect. Animations are a time sink but I know some players can't do without, so I added them.
In general, I rather spend my effort on the gameplay and have to aim for a balance here with the available time.
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. From my own experience (with different game engines) optimization can be a real slog, and in terms of games, paramount to achieving an ideal performance for the player's system. To me it sounds like real time inverse kinematics aren't possible in engine, or if they are, they're so resource intensive that adding them would bloat the size of the game. To be honest a lot of games made in Renpy seem to suffer from file size creep as they're developed. I appreciate that you have taken this into consideration for the players.
I agree with you Ein, an extra frame on the blowjob/handjob animation would improve the scenes immensely. Still loving the game so far, the characters and gameplay loop is fun even in this early stage. This is amongst my top projects that I am keeping my eye on. Looking forward to the exhibition mechanics and the hacker girl's storyline and leads immensely.
Regarding android, I have no plans to migrate it before it is finished (as it would mean changing all my keymappings, etc.) as I have no way of testing that currently.
Not played it yet. But I wanted to point out, that the hero looks like a girl in the promotional shot. The one where he holds the gun up and looks to the side.
Just saying. I was impressed by the goblin game and had the space game on my list for a while and always thought, that girl on the left is not as cute as the others.... ;-)

I tried starting a new game and avoiding even going to the space station until I had enough money. I think it was around day 28 and still no space events happened, I had not gone on the space station at that point.
One question; does 'alien' women mean more 'exotic' looking women (green/blue/tentacle hair etc), or will they always be 'human' in appearance? Asking for a friend who's not from around these parts ;)

I dont have an sdk to test it with. maybe once it is finished, but that is at least a year off.

I moved the save location to the correct folder to avoid Mac OS / Win access right issues
It now belongs into "Users/yourUserID/AppData/Roaming/Renpy/SpaceJourneyX... where all your save files are.
On Mac it is User/yourUserID/Library/Renpy/SpaceJourneyX...
Just drop the file there.
You can then leave it there, it will be automatically found in future.

That beacon appears (or should) in the 75% zone as soon as you have the quest. Its the nav point. Just fly there and click on it.

I have an issue where "Bot Lab Secrets Quest" won`t trigger.
I do not know how many days it takes but I have tried for 15 in game days straight.
I do not use any mods and I used a clean folder.
ps. the way I tried it was: enter hallway 1 -> back to room -> skip time...(repeat) (when 12:00 skip day)
There's a weird counter / trigger for that in V0.5.
Have sex twice with Type-J bot in your room then walk into the hallway.Never thought people wouldn't try that twice an therefore never trigger it.

Your suggestion to move the application to the desktop removes the error of when using the device to store the save. However, a json is not created either on the desktop, or the location of the save files in the RenPy directory (subdirectory of the Library)
So, it seems I will have to restart from scratch when I have the patience.
The json is in the folder named "game" inside the game folder (one level "above" saves folder). You might have to use right click "show package contents" on the app file to get there.
I know, that is bad design to write inside the app but I couldn't figure out to access game library / save paths on OSX properly yet...
Will fix that in future and relocate it to the saves folder

Out of curiosity, what was the motivation for setting it up this way in the first place, as opposed to allowing continuity of saves between versions, much like other RenPy games?
With unfinished design (procedural hierarchy of modules, call sequence, ...) of the game I cannot solve the "continuity of process" problem for renpy saves and resumes, so the pod is a kind of data continuity crutch.
I took your hint and in V0.6. at saved the multiverse pod file in the generic save game path, so it is automatically found be new versions and eliminates access issues.
It seems odd that the write permissions to ones own app would error out if in a directory, but work if in the Desktop directory. Sound like there is a bug somewhere in the callstack.
I was lazy in just dumping it into the app location on OSX. Bad practice, but Win usually doesnt care.

In V0.5, I happened to accept two missions at different times while both are active at the distance 50 point. When the first mission came due, I tried to use the location but it said there was nothing to do.
Never happened before.

The distance point. Sorry, I think it was the 100. I first succeeded in a mission in the large asteroids, then accepted one mission at the point. While that was active, I accepted a second one.
When the first came due, I couldn’t collect. When the second came due, I couldn’t collect it either.
Does the game allow you to sell items required for missions? If so, that is the likely cause. It prevents sell all, but I had cargo of the same type, so I sold individual amounts.
The Nav points are still on the map after fail, is this as designed?
What helped one other used with the same issue is to drag the game app to the desktop and then try it from there.
(better and more safe than nuking whole folders with chmod...)

Hmmm, I develop the entire Game on OSX 12.6. No issues, no special access right required, ...
There is only only OSX issue I am aware of and that is a file access rights issue with the multiverse pod (can be tentatively solved by moving the game app on the desktop and running it there).
Let me know when the issues happen.
It happened on a startup of an initial new game (no save) V04. Ignoring the call stacks 3x, nothing seems amiss, other than not being able to ever buy shields or weapons, which I assume will come with V05 combat.
That is peculiar. There are three main causes of issues
(a) use of an old incompatible save
(b) overwrite install into a previous version folder
(c) mod use (like URM)
If you have a text postable dump I'll have a look.
Combat is not implemented in V0.4. You could also wait for V0.5, which will be publicly released around 15.05.
Unfortunately those are not the case.
Also I found a couple of behaviours that didn't match the walkthrough, but it seems I can't get the spoiler markup html to work in comments. (And my discord is not linked to a phone, so I cannot use that markup there)
Not sure whether you refer to the actual Ylyee quest to trigger (visit bar at 15:00 after 10 days or so in V0.5).
If you refer to the multivaerse pod save not working and are on a Mac, move the.app to the desktop and play from there.
If your issues are with V0.4, I recommend to restart with V0.5, released yesterday. That might help.

Hello yv0751, cool little game you got here so far. I remember playing The Princess in the Tower a while back which was a fun little diversion.
I'm also glad to see that you've improved a bit from your last game. Great job!
I like the models you're using and I'm assuming you created them yourself (If so good stuff); However I really feel like your in-game animations could do with some polishing. Granted I'm unsure how Renpy handles animations as I'm unfamiliar with the engine, but I really feel like the limited animations are holding this game back (I felt similarly with Princess in the Tower). Are the animations freeze frame in engine (like a flip book kind of deal) or are they key-framed to specific triggers? Also what program are you using to generate the animations? Sorry I know a lot of questions.
Outside of that I like the game play loop you've built into the game. Its not tedious, encourages exploration, and is paced in a sensible manner. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. Keep up the good work :)

The animations are six frame symmetrically looped freeze frames, which for me are a good compromise between effort, memory and effect. Animations are a time sink but I know some players can't do without, so I added them.
In general, I rather spend my effort on the gameplay and have to aim for a balance here with the available time.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. From my own experience (with different game engines) optimization can be a real slog, and in terms of games, paramount to achieving an ideal performance for the player's system. To me it sounds like real time inverse kinematics aren't possible in engine, or if they are, they're so resource intensive that adding them would bloat the size of the game. To be honest a lot of games made in Renpy seem to suffer from file size creep as they're developed. I appreciate that you have taken this into consideration for the players.

I agree with you Ein, an extra frame on the blowjob/handjob animation would improve the scenes immensely. Still loving the game so far, the characters and gameplay loop is fun even in this early stage. This is amongst my top projects that I am keeping my eye on. Looking forward to the exhibition mechanics and the hacker girl's storyline and leads immensely.

I assume the following:
a.) You installed the game in a fresh folder
b.) You did not use an incompatible (=old version) save
c.) You did not use a compressed, unofficially ported or otherwise modded version
If not, observe a to c and try again. Sounds like b to me.
Otherwise, assuming sth else is corrupted (unlikely) reinstall and retry.
If the issue is consistently reproducible and a to c does _not_ apply, I would be interested in the save game (send me a link)

there is a tab "subsys" in the cargo bay. You should find it in there. Just press button install next to it.
And once you installed it, go to EN, where you can toggle to it in the EN menu with cursor left / right in order to configure it

There is one major bug (see release post or quote below fir workaround). Don't continue with your game, it's corrupted I assume. Would be great if you can post a save here.

I tried starting a new game and avoiding even going to the space station until I had enough money. I think it was around day 28 and still no space events happened, I had not gone on the space station at that point.
Just go there on day one, attempt to buy the map, be rejected and return to ship -> quest triggers
One question; does 'alien' women mean more 'exotic' looking women (green/blue/tentacle hair etc), or will they always be 'human' in appearance? Asking for a friend who's not from around these parts ;)
For the initial chars it is humanoid (e.g. T'Ris is Valkoran, sth like Vulcan, human, ...)
Later there will be humanoid characters with e.g. blue skin and slighly exotic facial features etc. Basically like star trek level of alien.
There won't be full on xenomorphs, slime creatures etc.

1: Can T'ris' (and the other character's) stats be raised by repetition or will they have set instances of stat growth?

Stats system will be vastly expanded in new versions. Stats can be raised, but are capped per action.
As to the MC, in V03 he is in the stats screen and has also a counter.
If you are familiar with the command line, you can also use GAME.mc.tally in V0.2 to bring up some stats
